I would stay away from things like Norton and Mcafee, they do the job but are very resource hungry, ive used Nod32 for years its cheap, uses next to no resources and does the best job ive ever seen in an anti-virus, i worked as a technician for 6 years and in that time you'll see why AVG is free, Avg is fine as long as you know a little about computers but can easily be manipulated if your an end user that hasn't got a clue
