Directories Dying a slow death ?

Since Google started clamping down on Directories you see less and less people getting excited about them, Are they now useless ? I for one very rarely submit to directory's anymore, although if i do i get some one else to do it.

Yes i agree. Using directory is useless right now, I've changed my task and I don't include directory submission, more on forum postings.

Directories still have their place, after all if you think about it a listing is just to give you a backlink, which it does!
Listing in Forums is good, but you have to remember alot are no follow, which gives the advantage to directories.
At the end of the day wether thery are any good or not depends on the task in hand.

I would consider doing forum posting and using the signature facility for my backlinks.
