Dmoz has a better authority compared to Yahoo and the big G gives more importance to Google.

Google uses the dmoz as its directory, I think. Also, it's been noted that Google gives no boost to sites listed in the dmoz:

its the same as being listed in any other directory, but it has a very high pr, so obviously you site will gain better pr from it then other directories
