Tips for Generating Traffic.

This thread is to share any tips or tricks you have for generating traffic.
Excluding paying for it!

Share any ideas that have worked well and ones that have not.

Share any unsuall ideas that you have tried.

Well, so far I've tried the following free traffic generating methods:

- search engine submission
- search engine optimization
- link exchanges
- social bookmarking submission
- directories submission
- word of mouth
- and probably few more, that I can't remember now...

For me, those methods have worked well..I was getting decent traffic to my make money online blog each month ( now I'm not promoting it anymore..I've switched to a personal blog recently )

One I tried, which wont work if everyone does it, is offering your site for sale.

Cheeky, but it works if you do a good write up and advertise in the right place

Worked well for me!!!

Hmm..a pretty evil thing. Might be interesting to try it. Though as you said, if too many will start doing it..it might not work that well
