What is the best AntVirus software?

Hello all, what is the best AntiVirus software for you?
currently i'm using AVG, because it is free.
Before that, i'm using Norton AV, but it makes my computer slow.

I would stay away from things like Norton and Mcafee, they do the job but are very resource hungry, ive used Nod32 for years its cheap, uses next to no resources and does the best job ive ever seen in an anti-virus, i worked as a technician for 6 years and in that time you'll see why AVG is free, Avg is fine as long as you know a little about computers but can easily be manipulated if your an end user that hasn't got a clue

I agree with what Riverwire mentioned about Norton and Mcafee, they do eat resources.
I have always used the free edition of AVG, I recommend it.

but free edition of AVG sometimes can't detect some viruses and can't delete them too.
they just can quarantine it.

guys, if ever your software cant delete a virus etc, jsut do a system restore, saves you getting annoyed and irritated and much quicker than finding a solution

na i understand why people do this but ive always been good at deleting all trace's of infection/spyware/virus/annoyance etc

yeah, i try avg, if it dont work, then i will do a system restore

i'm affraid to do system restore, because last time i've done that, i lost important files in my computer.

AVG is the best one. But, I left using the Free Adition. Now, I am using the paid one and its really great. But, I don't like having Anti-Virus at all. I am tired of all those update dialog boxes. So, I just wanna remove it, but, I forget it all the times. However, I was not attacked anytime!

yeah, its strange sometimes it seems to delete files, sometimes it seems it didnt delete a thing but the viruses are gone

anything important i stick on a cd first
