Default linking on "bad" sites

Today i have question on you. I saw change on our biggest bookmarks service to set on nofollow. Reason (one from more) is that they dont want link on warez, porno, hazard etc sites.
So my question is: Can this linking in signature on this "bad" sites damage my forum´s trust rank or pagerank? Or it is a bulshit?
thx

Thats a good question, and to be honest as a rule linking to bad sites is a no no when it comes to SEO however sig links do not hold massive value, I think i would create a rule on your forum that does not allow Warez / adult sites in the signature, I will also create a rule for this in my forums too

Yes, i think about this rule too, but as you said sig link dont have big value. I know about one webmaster forum where is allowed to link where you want it is sign of freedom and non-cenzored. It has PR4 and another reason what about directories if this link on this "bad" sites can be damaged too? I think not, but i will google little bit and give here some more info, i am not sure in this kind

yeah i understand what you are saying but most of the time it will be serps that google takes away not PR, PR is based on the inbound links. Linking to bad sites will most likly have an effect on your serps rank

you should allow links in the post, if they are relevant to the topic. If not delete them as its spam, or if someone puts tonned of links in a post(unless its a list of directorys or something)

Links in Posts i usually allow if they are not spammy links and if the member has over 30 posts, however if every post ends up that user just promoting his own site they will be deleted
