Whats your perspective on Black hat SEO ?

Ive seen alot of threads of late around loads of forums with people not really understanding what black hat, white hat and grey hat is , some people think its illigal some dont etc, whats your perspective on it ?

Avoid it and if you don't, you're doomed. I'm always preferring to be a White Hat SEO.

blackhat is perfectly legal, it is against search engine rules,but not the law.I would consider it bending the rules as much as possible inside the law

Absolutly right hitman, blackhat can also be with in the TOS of the search engines too, as long as you are not using the methods to cloak or make users see something that they arnt looking for it can be ok.

yup - i wouldnt try blackhat though - wouldnt want the excitement of been top a months, earning some nice $$ then banned and back to square one the next

If somebody uses unethical techniques which are against search engine rules, we can say him as a Black Hat SEO; using black hat technique to get fast search engine rankings, but what...in the end, he will loose his all rankings as well as the site (banned) in the search engines.

The gains from Blackhat techniques can be fast and effective but short lived, the SEs wont be fooled for long with black hat techniques used. Worst case scenario - banned.
