Bad Neighbourhood ? who checks ?

So most of us use shared hosting at some point in our webmastering lives , do any of you actually check what over sites are hosted on the same IP address as you ? and do you understand what it could mean if your in a "bad Neighbourhood " ?

Shared hostings always are danger! If your neighbourhood has a low security in his site, hackers would hack it easly, then they could access to root server using some tricks, and could hack the whole websites on the server!
Shared hostings put your private things in a high risk

You didnt understand the question , there isnt anything wrong with shared hosting that if you are with a decent host.

What i mean by Bad Neighbourhood is that when you choose shared hosting it means that there are other websites that arnt your's that could be Adult, warez, and other sites that you wouldnt want to be associated with your website.

Does anyone check what sites are on the same Ip address ?

Website security is the most important thing.. And specially when you have a big website.. If not then why PayPal is securised ?

And about what you meant.. People always ping the website to check the websites which are on the same host (I do sometimes)
And sometimes it gives a value for your website, when you choose a respected/good host, people give a good look to your website!
