Tables are known to increase the web page size, whereas the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are very versatile in controlling many other tasks apart from keeping the page size small. So, try to use CSS to control page layouts across the entire website.

It also gives better, easy and fast indexing of your web pages in search engines.

It also gives compliance with WCAG, tables used as layout elements are scorned upon. All sites I develop used CSS layout not tables (old hat).
