Like how for PC there's Win95, then 98, 2000, XP, XP Home, XP Office and Vista (that might be out of order but I'm sure you catch my drift..). What is the order for Macintosh?

From the beginning of the Mac OS in 1984, Apple started numbering the versions of the OS from 1 to 9, which came out in 1999. There were decimal versions of each (i.e. OS 7.1, 8.5 etc.)

The modern Mac OS is OSX (OS Ten), based on Unix. It was officially released in 2001. Each version is also named after a large cat. The versions are as follows:

    Mac OS X v10.0 "Cheetah"
    Mac OS X v10.1 "Puma"
    Mac OS X v10.2 "Jaguar"
    Mac OS X v10.3 "Panther"
Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger" (the current version)
Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard" (soon to be released)
