What kind of code/technology is behind Yahoo?s new homepage?

  1. I like Yahoo new homepage? the expended box to preview new e-mails, the multiple tabs within the same box (center column), and ?More Service? button under the right navigation bar to open up a list of items?. Everything looks so dynamic. And never mess up the page layout. What kind of code/technology is behind Yahoo?s new homepage?

    Mostly, on the front end, Ajax and javascript. They actually allow you to download the Yahoo Ajax toolkit that has a lot of these features. On the back end of things they use PHP and a number of other languages.

    I am not sure, I am not to familiar with coding, only a little html. But you can click "View" and then "Source" to see the coding. Here is a bit....

    <!-- No Doctype for IE <= 6 -->
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var now=new Date,t1=t2=t3=t4=t5=t6=t7=t8=t9=t10=t11=t12=0,cc='',ylp='';t1=now.getTime();

    There's also a batch of good CSS (cascading style sheets) coding in there as well.
